OUR THOUGHTS:
We decided to go for the Expressions tour and it certainly paid off!
As the last tour of the day we were lucky enough to have the tour guide to ourselves. Rebecca, our guide, was really nice and answered all our questions with cheer.
After a nice tour around the distillery, including a good inspection of their flat-topped stills, we settled down into the distillery’s amazing tasting room.
The tasting included, the Cragganmore 12, Cragganmore Friends Bottling NAS, and a 1986 Sherry Cask Sample (a cask we were able to smell in the warehouse).
Though the drams were small (~10 ml) it was amazing to get a taste of the 29 year old sherry-bomb. That and having the tour to ourselves made it well worth the price.

TIPS:
– Take a 6 minute detour Southwest down the A95 to take a peak at the beautiful Tormore Distillery. Though Tormore is closed to the public, the unique architecture is worth being admired.
– Make sure you sign up for Diageo’s Friends of the Classic Malts‘ (Free!) before you leave for your trip to get your discount on tour prices.
– Drivers – ask if you can take your dram to-go. Many distilleries let you take your drams to enjoy later (and Cragganmore even gave us some containers), so no missing out for our trusty drivers ( ahem, AliceinWhiskyland)
