Nose

Red currants, liqueur soaked raisins, lingonberry jam. Cool menthol peat. Black cherries. Deep forest fruits. Hints of dark chocolate.

Taste

Rich and deep red fruit sweetness. Like a rich sweet red wine. Herbal and cool menthol peatiness. Definite madeira influence. That sweet wine richness like raisins and treacle.

Finish

Cooling peat and cloying sweet wine. Long lasting and refreshing. Blackberries, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, lots of berries!

Rating

8.5

Afterthoughts

An excellent dram. Deep and sophisticated yet bold and lively. Brooding in it’s darkness and yet also so sprightly. Truly a complex dram and most likely worth your while. Worth mine anyway. AliceInWhiskyland couldn’t stop going for more of this one.
